Interface Overview
Learn the layout and navigation of the Aura viewer
The Aura interface is designed to give you quick access to your data and tools while keeping the focus on the 3D viewer.
Main Components
Top Navigation Bar
The top navigation bar provides access to all major features:
- Home - Return to the dashboard
- Add Data - Import point clouds, imagery, and vector data
- View - Toggle map layers and view settings
- Tools - Access measurement and annotation tools
- Cross Section - Create cross-section views through your data
- Clip Area - Define clipping regions to isolate data
- Digital Grid - Access pole, wire, and span tools (requires Worker)
- Comments - View and manage annotations
- Share - Share your project with others
- Download - Export project files
- User Menu - Access settings and sign out
Left Sidebar - Layers Panel
The left sidebar displays all your data layers organized by type:
- Point Clouds - COPC .laz files with visibility and opacity controls
- Raster - Orthophotos and oblique imagery
- Vector - GeoJSON and KML/KMZ data
- Images - Geotagged photos
- Digital Grid - Poles, towers, spans, wires, and crossarms
- 3D Tile Clusters - 3D model clusters
Each layer can be:
- Toggled - Show or hide with the visibility checkbox
- Adjusted - Change opacity with the slider
- Deleted - Remove from your project
Click on a point cloud layer to access its View Options and customize how the data is displayed.
Right Sidebar - Tool Settings
When you activate a tool (like measurement or adding poles), the right sidebar displays:
- Tool settings - Configure options for the active tool
- Measurement results - Distance, area, and height calculations
- Comments - List of annotations with filtering options
3D Viewer
The central viewer is powered by Cesium and displays your data in 3D. You can:
- Pan - Click and drag to move the view
- Rotate - Right-click and drag to rotate around a point
- Zoom - Scroll to zoom in and out
- Tilt - Middle-click and drag to tilt the camera angle
Keyboard Shortcuts
Aura supports keyboard shortcuts for quick access to common tools:

Status Indicators
Worker Status
In the left sidebar, you'll see a Worker status indicator:
- Green dot - Worker is connected and ready
- Red pulsing dot - Worker is not connected
Digital Grid tools require Worker to be running and connected. If you see a red indicator, make sure Worker is running on your computer.
View Modes
Aura primarily operates in 3D mode, providing a full three-dimensional view of your data. Use the camera controls to navigate through your point clouds and infrastructure models.
